In celebration of our friend Erin's birthday, a trip was planned to Blue River, Oregon, home of the.....well, home to some rental cabins, a school, and of course a blue river. We loaded DEB (a.k.a. The Kraken, my car) with 4 people, 2 dogs, and $200 worth of groceries and set off for a relaxing weekend three and a half hours away from the busy confines of Portland.
With the weather gods firmly in our favor, we were able to do some walking, relaxing, and soaking in the nearby hot springs (complete with gratuitous and somewhat disgusting nudists). It was everything you'd expect from a cabin retreat.
It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend, which was capped off by a trip to visit my grandpa out on his acreage, near Pleasant Hill. There we got to see some pretty newly born calves whilst Ruby, Jenny's beloved dog, was able to relive her youth by rolling around in some newborn calf-shit.
